Your health information

What Coached by Cherrie collects about your health, why, who else touches it, and what you can do about it — in plain words, without marketing.

Effective October 27, 2026 · Coached by Cherrie, including Cherrie, its AI strength and fitness coach, is operated by Renna Labs, LLC, 418 Broadway, Suite # 12453, Albany, NY 12207

The short version

Coached by Cherrie isn't a healthcare provider

Coached by Cherrie is a fitness coaching service. It doesn't diagnose, treat or prescribe. That also means the information you share isn't covered by HIPAA, the US law for doctors and hospitals — which is exactly why we set out our own commitments here and hold ourselves to them.

What we collect

Only what you choose to tell us. When you set up your account, you check a box to agree that Cherrie uses the health information you give, including about your menstrual cycle, to shape your training — that's the service you're signing up for. We keep the words you agreed to and the date, and Settings shows a summary of them with the date. Which answers you give is always up to you.

Health questions. Some come during setup and the rest during your first week, one or two at a time. Each one says why it's asked, and each can be answered "I'd rather not say":

A safety check before your first session. A short set of standard questions — heart, chest pain, dizziness, long-term conditions and medication. If any apply, you'll be asked to check in with your doctor before training.

The basics of any training plan. Your age range, your sleep, and a typical day of eating — asked during your first week.

For the beta's one question. Whether Cherrie's accountability keeps women consistent. In your first week, Cherrie asks how many of the 12 weeks before the beta you worked out at least once; in week 12, how those weeks compared with before, and what kept you showing up. Each can be answered "I'd rather not say," and we only ever see the answers as totals, never from fewer than 20 women. Each week, we also count how many times you trained and how many sessions your plan had, and whether you stayed in touch with Cherrie in a week you didn't train: only that you answered your check-in, told Cherrie you were skipping, replied to a quiet-day note or logged your steps, never what you said.

As you use Cherrie. Your training logs, your weekly check-in scores for sleep, stress, energy and recovery, and anything you tell Cherrie in conversation.

If you send feedback. What you write in Beta feedback comes to us, with your email, so we can reply. Only you decide what's in it, and it's deleted when you delete your account.

Only if you turn on texts. Your mobile number, confirmed with a code; when you agreed to texts and the wording you agreed to; and any replies you send. Texts only ever say what you're training and when, a nudge to start or to log it, that your check-in is due, that it's been a few days since you used Cherrie, or that Cherrie has a note for you, never your health. Reply STOP and they stop.

If you post in Cherrie's Corner. Every signed-in member of the beta can see what you post there, under the display name you choose; the public and search engines can't. A post that looks like it mentions self-harm, disordered eating or a crisis is held for us to read before anyone else sees it, and Cherrie sends you a private message with ways to get support. Photos in Cherrie's Corner aren't for health details: its rules keep out body comparisons, scale readings and measurements, and a photo Cherrie isn't sure about, or one that looks like it shows self-harm, waits for us to see it first. Progress photographs you keep for yourself, with body composition, are separate: they stay private to you and are never posted to Cherrie's Corner. If you let Cherrie share a tip, it passes on what you wrote, without your name, to members in a similar situation. You choose this when you post the tip; to stop it being passed on, delete the post. A tip already passed on stays, without your name, in the conversations it was passed to. Deleting your account deletes your posts and replies.

What Cherrie looks for. Cherrie looks for patterns in what you log and what you tell it in Coach — days that keep getting missed, sessions running short, an ache you've mentioned more than once — so it can suggest changes. To understand your messages it uses keywords and, when it can be reached, the same AI that writes its replies. It never reads anything about food or weight for this, and nothing changes unless you say yes. Everything it has found is listed on the You tab, where you can stop any of it.

Only if you log it. In the Cycle tab: your answer to Which describes your cycle right now?, the dates your periods start and end, and how you feel day to day. All of it is optional, none of it ever appears on your lock screen, and you can remove any entry, or everything at once.

Only if you log it, in Nutrition. What you eat and drink, with its calories, protein, carbs, fat, fiber, sugar, saturated fat, sodium, calcium and iron worked out from the US Department of Agriculture's food data, or taken from a food's label when you add one of your own; your water; the steps you type in; and the goals you set there: a calorie goal, how your macros split, the nutrients you choose to track, your activity level and when you usually eat. All of it is optional, and you can change or remove any entry. Cherrie uses it to coach your food and your day, and the AI that writes its replies is told your day's totals, your goals and your activity level when you talk to it.

Only if you turn it on. Body composition — weight, measurements (bust, waist and hips) and progress photographs — and a weight or measurement goal if you set one, with your height, so Cherrie can check the goal is realistic for your body. It's off by default, has its own switch, and is never used to score you.

Only if you film a set. Before your first one, you agree once to how Cherrie watches. When you film a set for Cherrie to watch, your phone measures it — your reps, how long each took, how deep you went, the weight's path, and how your knees and hips moved — and only those measurements and Cherrie's answer are kept, with your sessions. The video stays on your phone; the points the model finds on your head are used only to blur your face in the stills, and are thrown away as each frame is read; and nothing from your video is used to recognize you or to judge your body.

Why we use it

If we ever want to use your health information for something new, we'll ask you first. We won't assume.

Helping Cherrie get better

Your training, for every member. Our Terms of Service let us learn from members' training, with names taken off: the sessions done, shortened and skipped, the weights lifted, which changes to a plan kept women training, and which quiet-day notes were followed by a session. It's how Cherrie learns which plans keep women training and getting stronger. A change made because of something you told Cherrie about your health, like a lighter session for your cycle or one that works around pain, counts as one of your health answers, so it's used only if you say yes.

Your health answers, only if you say yes. If you check the box at sign-up, or turn it on in Settings, we also use your health answers the same way: your cycle and periods, symptoms, a GLP-1 medication, pain and injuries, your digestion, your check-ins, the foods you log, the topics you ask Cherrie about, and the changes made to your plan because of any of them. Saying no changes nothing about your coaching, and you can change your mind in Settings at any time.

How we look at it. Your name, email and anything else that says who you are come off first. We only ever look at totals: never one woman's record, never a total from fewer than 20 women, and never one that could be worked out by subtracting one total from another. We don't read your conversations for this: we count the topics members ask about. Your body composition, progress photos and posts in Cherrie's Corner are never used.

What we learn can change Cherrie's rules, its food list and what it knows. Each change is checked against published research first, and nothing changes on its own. It's never sold, used for ads or shared with anyone for their own purposes, and it's never used to train AI models.

What we never do

Who else handles it

A small number of companies process information on our behalf, only to run Coached by Cherrie and only under contract:

How long we keep it

While your account is open, so Cherrie can keep coaching you. When you delete your account, your health information is deleted straight away, and it's gone from our backups within 30 days, except anything the law requires us to keep.

Period dates and cycle logs are kept while your account is open, until you delete them.

Form check measurements, and Cherrie's answers, are kept with your sessions until you delete them in Settings, or your account; the app keeps your last 30.

Your health answers come out of what we look at to make Cherrie better as soon as you turn your yes off, and everything of yours as soon as you delete your account.

What you can do

Email hello@coachedbycherrie.com for any of these. We'll reply within 30 days, and we'll never treat you differently for asking.

Who Coached by Cherrie is for

Coached by Cherrie is for adults aged 18 or over. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone younger, and if we learn we have, we delete it.

Where Coached by Cherrie is available

During the beta, Coached by Cherrie is available in the United States except California, Washington, Nevada and Connecticut.

If this changes

We'll tell you before we change how we handle your health information — and if a change means using it in a new way, we'll ask you first.
